Some people claim that to properly meditate you have to sit bolt upright in your chair and bend your knees at a right angle. If you’re comfortable sitting this way, that’s fine. But many other people find it easier to carry out their meditation while laying on their back, or sitting in a comfortable chair. It’s your choice and unless the instructions for your chosen meditation requires a specific position, feel free to try out different positions until you find one you like.
Next, all you have to do is take some long, deep breaths and begin to concentrate on those breaths until your mind chatter fades away.
Remember that you shouldn’t try to force yourself to focus on just one thing, but rather let everything start to flow. After a few days or weeks of practicing it’s simple to begin to meditate in different places and at different times.
